Baluster replacement is a great way to enjoy the beauty of ornamental iron more cost-effectively. Many homes are outfitted with wooden pickets on the interior staircase railing (also known as spindles or balusters). These are the vertical bars, often white in color, that support the caprail. Emerald Ironworks can come to your home, remove these wooden pickets and replace them with the ornamental iron balusters of your choice. The resulting combination of metal and wood is stunning.  Our professional installation generally takes two to three days and we offer in-house, hand-rubbed patinas which are superior to other finishes found elsewhere.  Please browse through our selection of ornamental balusters below and use our example pictures to get ideas for various combinations and patterns.
